CB Certification

  • International network of product certification organizations
  • Manufacturers can access all CB Scheme member countries
  • A multilateral certification system based on accessible and accepted IEC standards

The CB (Certification Body) Scheme enables access to the global market.

The IECEE's CB (Certification Body) Scheme, a system born under the auspices of the IEC for conformity assessment schemes for electrical equipment and components, is an international system that involves mutual acceptance of test reports and product certificates for electrical and electronic equipment, devices, and components. Based on the use of internationally accepted product safety standards (IEC standards and shared interpretation rules), the CB Scheme relies on a global network of CB test laboratories (CBTLs), whose test results, submitted to national certification bodies (NCBs) in CB Scheme member countries, are accepted by countries that have joined the scheme without further testing.

What are the advantages of the CB Certification Scheme?

  • International network of product certification organizations. There are over 50 member countries of the CB Scheme worldwide, including European Union (EU) member states, the United States, China, India, Korea, and Russia. Below is the list of participating countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA, and Vietnam.
  • Manufacturers can access all CB Scheme member countries, avoiding the costs and time loss associated with repeating tests.
  • A multilateral certification system based on accessible and accepted IEC standards in all international markets and with uniform interpretations of regulatory requirements.

ELETTRA is part of the IECEE's CB Scheme as an accredited CBTL laboratory and can perform tests according to the relevant IEC standards, including national deviations to be considered for countries of interest.
